it doesn’t have to be complicated.
I’ve been camping all weekend, so doing this has been on the back burner in my mind (though still ON my mind, from time to time).
It’s 11:13pm. I’m laying here in the bed of my motorhome. My writing for the day has come to mind a few times, but no solid idea has really come to fruition. So I just decided to start.
It never came to mind for me to write about the way these fake silk sheets actually feel pretty good against my legs, despite the slight prickle of hair that’s about ready for shaving. Or to write about the slight breeze coming through the three windows that surround me - each one open to the max. I also didn’t think to mention the way the motorhome rocks just a little bit every time one of the dogs adjusts his sleeping position.
Zach has to watch a show when he falls asleep, but I can still hear his breaths over the voices of the subjects of the latest documentary he has his sights set on. I think it’s about river rafting.
Apart from this writing challenge, every part of life right now is feeling simple. So I finally just decided to stop complicating it.
