america's nightmare.
For YEARS people have raved about living the American Dream, traveling from far and wide in search for a better life. Following a path never before taken.
Step 1: Get a 9-5 job.
Step 2: Find a wife (let’s be honest, only men do real work).
Step 3: Buy a house.
Step 4: Find an everyday routine to follow religiously.
And while this worked for many people, for many years. And while many people still come to America in search for a better life, the traditional dream just isn’t cutting it for most of us anymore.
As new generations are growing up, we seek a life that’s much more… fluid.
I dream of financial freedom and being passionate about what I do. I dream about career full of growth and unlimited PTO. I dream about heading into the office to get my fix of human connection and staying home on the days I need some alone time. I dream about having a family AND a career, because both is now an option.
If the American dream is a 9-5 and a drinking problem, then I must be living America’s nightmare.
