going anywhere is going somewhere.

But, like … duh?

However, I think more often than not, we feel a lot more stuck than we realize. In a routine, in a job, inside our heads even. That feeling of being stagnant for too long makes us itch and squirm and then go numb all at once.

This feeling can be really hard to shake because it can seem like only doing something extreme will actually push you out of the discomfort of stillness. Cut all your hair off. Quit your job. Leave the country. These are very major, life-changing things. (Me? Without hair?? NEVER!) But when you simplify everything to a very basic level, you might realize that going anywhere is going somewhere.

Like going to the grocery store so you can buy the food that will fuel your body for the next week - that’s going somewhere (literally). Doing 10 minutes of meditation everyday to help your inner monologue shut the fck up - that’s going somewhere (metaphorically). Committing to a 29 day writing challenge will help you practice and push your writing skills in the right direction - (hopefully) going somewhere.

You don’t need to throw everything out and start over when you start to feel stuck. Work with what you have. Stand up. Sit down. Go somewhere. Go anywhere.
